To redeem
patronage you must be 70 years of age. You need to bring in the
following
Patronage
form with a copy of your picture id. If you are
redeeming patronage on a deceased patron, you must bring in the form with a
copy of their death certificate.
A) Flat
Priced/Forward Contract: Entire price, delivery period and units
have been established. Ownership will take place once we purchase the
grain within the specified time period according to the contract terms.
B) Deferred
Payment Contract: Primeland purchases the grain and takes
ownership but the contract(s) set up the terms to pay the producer at a later
date (normally January 5, XXXX)
C) Hedge to Arrive
(HTA): Also known as futures fixed. Futures price is
established, basis to be established at a later date and delivery period has
been established.
D) Basis Fixed:
Basis priced and delivery period has been established. Futures price is
to be established at a later date.
The benefits of
contracting is that a producer can cover their cost of production and are able
to capture prices that are paying a premium to their operating costs.
Producers should only contract at a level they are comfortable with that will
reflect a realistic crop with eh current years growing conditions with hopes
that the volumes will cover their cost of production.
